Emergency First Responder

Our hands on Emergency First Responder (EFR) course will help you be prepared in the event of an emergency at all times!

To enroll in the EFR course there are no prerequisites and no minimum age. Also, you don’t need to be diver to learn saving lives. The course takes half a day to one day in our well-equipped classrooms.

The Emergency First Response Course – Primary and Secondary Care teaches you how to react right and manage the critical time between a life-threatening incident and when medical service arrives.

• First, we start with general guidelines and self-protection.
• Next, you will learn how to apply Primary Care, Secondary Care and properly use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Finally, our instructor will teach you the critical steps in the circle of care “ABCABS” of Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) known as “ABCABS” to safe apersons life if breathing or heart stops:
  A – Airways Open?
  B – Breathing normally?
  C – Chest Compressions
  A – Airways open
  B – Breathing for patient
  S – Serious bleeding, Spinal injury, shock

The second part of the EFR course is about secondary care – helping people in non-life-threating situations such as minor cuts, illnesses or spraining’s. This hands-on course provides you with checklists to control stressful situations, practical tips and tricks and overall important: how to treat patients the right way.

BONUS:
At Dive Point we will also show you how to use an automated external  defibrillator (AED). Knowing how to properly use an AED can greatly increase the chance of saving a life and will make you feel more secure and stay calm in an emergency situation.
Although the EFR course focused on serious life situations, we have a lot of fun during the course. We believe this is how you learn best 🙂 and cannot wait to introduce you to Brad our lovely CPR assistant!
